Mastermind / Valeyard, Mastermind robotics/time manipulation

My first Mastermind run in quite awhile,used an older toon just respecced and reslotted him. A well rounded MM with great ranged damage,heals,buffs and debuffs. Also a 101.25% recharge rate and softcapped defense with even some damage resistance. hoarfrost has my 3 global procs for damage resist.

Scrapper / infinity soldier, electrical melee/shield defense

I finally was able to slot this one up fully, my own winter soldier. Maximum teleport powers employed with blink,blink blitz, lightning rod and shield charge!
Since this is so crazy i went a step further with high global recharge of 100% i added hasten,burnout,unrelenting so one with the shield would be perma! a few clicks are needed of course but so much fun! Was even able to drop tough with some creative slotting so s/l resist is about 66% with high melee def and def combined. Let you all take a look under the hood of this Mustang...so to speak lol!

figuring for your full team of 6 pets each producing their productive damage and your damage as leader only comes to 5% of the collective whole so yet again the pets do 95% of the damage you do only 5% that 5% cant overproc the 95% pet damage, I know math is hard. So your output personally will be nominal at best. From my personal experience as well i usually pick a power that has knockback to help with damage mitigation or a debuff.

Except for a thematic experience or procs for hold and reducing damage resist or defense not much should be put in the masterminds personal attacks the damage scale is just too low. Damage comes from your pets primarily and even their damage scale is quite low. But you have numbers that multiply so you can get to that 400% damage cap. So much better to buff and heal your pets and augment their damage. Mastermind alone scale is 0.550 melee and ranged, pet1 .450,pet2 .550 and pet 3 .650 and that's melee the ranged for each pet class is 10% lower. As a mastermind you are a captain in the field so you might have a good sidearm and always have some armor to protect yourself, your main strength is tactics and keep your men armed and in good health. Plus your leadership capabilities. You focus on those strengths you will do great damage plus sustain your army longer men will die in the field but you have the power to call fresh troops in as well.

After looking at redlynnes build thoroughly i was curious about the extra damage resistance that is given in the build and used that to fill up many holes plus added tough and the speed pool. Burnout is so useful these days it will automatically recharge primary and secondary powers. So with this build i have elude effectively on perma with just a few clicks. Def on max with just a few clicks,resist for s/l at a respectable 60% and damage effectively at 330% with hybrid going off there's 400%. An interesting build to say the least but you do have to go old school and buy a raptor pack. With all the speed produced here by hasten and burnout ninja or beast run is perfect here.

If the leadership pool is the altrusic pool then why isnt tactics 6 slotted with gaussians? so you can be selfish just do as i say not as i do i get it Your numbers do not add up sir, at best if everything is firing correctly you are at 220% damage not 380% Mids shows very accurate numbers and account for proc damage as well. Now at rest and inbetween recharges or misses your damage and defenses take a major slide to a whopping 19% damage. melee and range def are great at 60 but s/l/e go to 13,13,17.5 and energy resistance is just a mere 24.5%. So that's why you get eaten by warwalkers on occasion your luck runs out waiting on recharge. Now you could get a bit more to help you but you wont take tough and you have room in agile but no unbreakable,aegis, or even something else that would give you a boost. Now my electric tanker with s/l/e resist at 90 never has a problem with walkers or a bio tank the king of absorb shields. Here's a info graphic of redlynne at rest. Have a nice day!

personally i take maneuvers only because i want extra defense or its one of the few defense powers i can get. If i'm a flying hero i'm not going to take just hover so i can give more to the team. You gonna tell superman he can only hover? please your explanation does not fit what i like to play. I'll take fly speed and flight control  with added defense over just having hover and maneuvers anyday. If you have seriously looked at any of my builds that are support focused you will see alot of attention there. I do set bonuses,i focus on raw damage and procs are just a few here and there maybe i'll get lucky.

Electric blasters are one of my faves but to get it to really sing I had to go both electric and go a bit old school and make him a damage dealer and wade into melee. Faceplanting is an option now and at least creed has vengebait 8). The build worked itself out with a few Secret master enhancements and the rest focusing on global recharge,def and resist. Clse to my max damage blaster averaging 455% damage. So not bad at all i still think my ranged options are a bit underpowered compared to a fire blasters snipe.

I had played Time manipulation before with my rendition of Booster gold and wanted to try again with what iv'e picked up over the years here. Mercury valeyard is a very well rounded hero type. high global recharge, damage, good def and resistances. Playing him in trials and missions has been a blast. A true flying character so goes for the fly/hover/ aerobatics  for speed,flight control and defense. I love aerobatics the defense rating is on par with acrobatics even better when flying.

Gamers, being lazy bahstids, typically want the quickest path to the easiest rewards. A lot of the time, most gamers DO NOT CARE to know WHY they should do things a certain way ... all they care about is knowing that some pathfinder paved the trail for them to follow. Somebody else "found it" ... it "works" ... that's all you need to know. Stick to the Meta and you can't go wrong. So by saying this are you telling me kismet is lazy? Kismet is our main tank for trials mostly and comes up with amazing proc bombs that decimate the walkers and avatar of hamidon. Kismet's teachings helped me develop better melee characters as well plus amazing insight into our smo builds for up to no good's strikes. We have about 90% success rate because of great builds and insights from my long list of players. i'll reiterate 1.Kismet2. wyldhaunt3. zed4. hailey comet5. redhand6.creed7.galvanized decree8. Ephy9. sky forge and many others that play this game that don't always go by the meta but what works time and time again. Sorry Redlynne i Don't find them lazy at all and i'm actually insulted by this statement. If it isn't your way its wrong is what you really say as well. You say to start just my opinion but then it degrades to this is sad and you make me cry jabbing at me saying i'm not doing it your way so this is totally wrong.

reactive defenses in aero batics the why. Number 1 this toon is a flying character so having fly,hover aerobatics fits his story. speed,defense and flight contro in  Aerobatics has the same defense value as acrobatics more than double manuevers so it goes there.. The defender is already be very altrusic with all his support powers providin basically perma recharge for the team. You should be the best you can be as well. I go well rounded and shore up my defense any way i can. I pay attention to damage but i use set bonuses to get my damage.
In my personal experience as well i'll have a few  procs here and there but i dont rely on them soley for damage.

Another SM build, this time a secret master prized team mate the glorious empath old school. All empathy powers in use except ressurect in secret master the idea is no defeats so pick every other power that can help the team including absorb pain whis has saved a few team mates from the brink of death. taking 10% damage for the heal that saved you from a defeat is worth it in my book. A few HO'S in key places,  especially in snipe anything over 215 ft is what's desired. All the auras a empath can give,boosts and clear mind most of us on a SM team dont have much mez resist. Full set of imperial might for damage plus the few set bonuses we can have,same with forced indoctrination on soul storm with power boost to help with the hold, ive gotten arch villians this way. Still needs more HO'S but its good enough to help keep the team alive plus badges from 3 SM task forces.

Most people will ask why have another build for secret master? Very simply you get to play old school where hamidon enhancements, purple enhancements and certain procs are your only edge starting. Set enhancements have no effect, no temp or incarnate powers, no inspirations can be used and lastly zero defeats for the whole team and the enemies are buffed. Rebirth's version of hardmode. After you have completed a few there are some sets that have set bonuses that will work in challenge mode but that's all. Certain procs dont work like force feedback chance for recharge,no buildup powers except Soul bound allegiance pet build up. globals dont function like luck of the gambler,aegis psi,unbreakable 7.5 hp. Pancea chance for hp works,per shifter chance for end and damage procs.This is my blaster build that i use in secret master, hopefully gain some insight if you want to give secret master a try. At the very least make sure your end recovery is good without set bonuses and play as a team because everyone peeling off usually leads to death. Have a plan and follow your tank.
