Apologies, it appears that I have two accounts and posted this under the wrong one. Still, Happy Anniversary anyways.

Thanks for the link, I remember reading these a long time ago but it was an incomplete run. The first series and the Dark horse special are my favourites.

This is the last of the "official" CoH Red Automaton stuff, I did remake him in Champions Online and even DC Universe with very limited success, but that hardly matters here. Once the closure was announced I began doing a themed lottery I called the Memento Lottery and basically three people would be placed in a doodle together with the foreground being the first place winner. For this one though I only rolled for two winners and kept the background spot for myself.

I would keep doing the lotteries over in Champions for a while before I lost a bunch of art and screen caps due to the image hosting site changing it's policies and eventually not working at all. This image while a quick and dirty tribute to DC's Zero Hour was my response to that. So that's me as Sector Protector, Red Automaton and Hawkbrand surrounded by individual team mates.

Not knowing about the private servers and trying my best to keep CoH relevant in a game I really didn't fit in very well, I ran a few CoH Anniversary Lotteries on the CO forums, which might have seemed a bit odd to some but the fans ate it up. This one was which CoH villains do you miss the most (player's choice) and the Rikti won.

Till next time Heroes and Villains.

No but I'll take that as a huge compliment Joshex. I actually went to school for Classical animation but have been drawing superheroes since I was a little kid.

I played Red up until closure and tried to carry on over in Champions Online as well. I came up with this split image doodle to try and encourage our old groups to keep playing together but Champions just wasn't for everyone. I did quite a few pieces after the closure was announced as gifts and mementos which I'll post shortly. Thanks for all the views and comments, this is what I love about forums.

A little bit of background, so these doodles of Red make a little more sense. Red was created back during World War two but even then he was a super advanced android and believed himself human. After suffering a decisive defeat he was damaged in such a way that he lost all of his previous memories and now sounds and acts like an artificial being.
A neutral holiday greeting card I posted to all the Super Groups I belonged to.

A few doodles offered up a glimpses into Red's broken memories.

I've lost a lot of these doodles but if I've drawn for you before and you'd like me to repost here, just let me know.

Thanks Draggynn, I've seen a few of your commissions before, but then I'm all over the place myself.
Because these doodles were free I spent very little money on them, they are done in pens, pencils and sharpies on 8.5 X 11 photo copier paper, so keeping them simpler and in black & white was essential. I have been lucky enough to have had a few people do colours for me after the fact though, which was pretty cool.

Next up for me would be the Red Automaton, he was made with several of the newer pieces and a few Vet rewards at the time so he's hard remake here so far. But... I'll get there. Red's an homage to The Vision, old school Marvel Comics Vision. He doesn't have the same powers or visuals but the reference should be clear enough.
This first pic was posted with my application to join a newly formed Super Group.

I have to head out for work but I'll post more Red Automaton later in the week. Red has a few doodles as he was one of my few heroes who got to run around with multiple groups.

Thanks for all the page views everyone. Like I said I'm only posting the ones I'm directly involved but I used to use a deviantArt page for hosting all the lottery images that you can check out if you're interested. It's old but here's the link:

I have to say that a lot of the groups I joined were filled with a lot of the same players, just running with differently themed Super Groups. Because I love alts, I also joined a Legion of Superheroes homage group as a tribute to Colossal Boy and did this freebie with the two players I ran with the most. My character was colour blind so I made his costume black, grey and white but if you swapped the colours for red and blue, the tribute shows through.

I'm not big on playing villains but I did have a few, Baron Mechanus was one of the few that got doodled. He was made almost immediately after the head costume piece was released.

Clearly, I'm a huge comic book fan.

Thanks Redlynne, it was definitely a popular one. I drew up the Warshade's human form as a gift for my girlfriend shortly afterwards.

I hope I'm not boring anyone, because there's more to come, lol.

  More SG Doodles.
The majority of my Coalition heroes were American but my being Canadian meant I would promote Canadian holidays as well as the more common ones.

Through the Coalition I would join The Justiciars and The United Sentinels of America and extend the lotteries to them as well. The U.S.of A had it's own coalitions as well and I joined up as The Flaming Yank, and Galvanic Man, and did doodles for them as well. The first here is The Flaming Yank and a few teammates

This second one is Galvanic Man and his teammates. The Warshade is mine and Galvanic Man's girlfriend.

I have, of course, remade a few of my characters here already.

As I mentioned on my Sector Protector bio post, I'm an amateur artist who has done a lot of free character art over the years. I usually set up one of my characters to act as a "host" for the art on the various super groups, and run it with a theme. For example Adam Westings (Sector Protector) had his mystery portraits that would randomly appear in his haunted Curio Shop. Hawkbrand, an art student, would offer up his school assignments to the various teen heroes he knew. I've done a lot of individual pieces but am only going to post the ones that I star or guest star in. I'll start with the odd ones.

I joined a Golden Age themed team that was in a coalition with several other smaller supergroups and started giving away freebies, I don't feature much in the first draft but in the background is my All-Star Crusader character.

Through the coalition I would join the All Star Teen Sentinels as Hawkbrand and that's where the lotteries really took off.
I was asked to do something similar to the JLU cartoon opening theme and came up with this doodle, Hawkbrand is the winged one in the background.

After drawing for so many others I was asked to add a proper Hawkbrand and decided to do it like a fake comic book cover.

I have to step out but I'll add more doodles later on. Feel free to comment, and if I've drawn for you before, give a shout out.

A few group pieces I like to call Little Heroes, Big Threat. A small selection of team mates vs a Marvel Sentinel.

A slightly bigger selection of heroes vs DC's Starro.

Fun stuff but clearly Sector Protector is back where he belongs.

I would go on to remake Sector Protector in Champions Online when City of Heroes closed down. It was never the same but I did have fun offering up a lot of free artwork as part of Sector Protector's backstory. These are just a few of myself or that included myself as part of the doodle. The differences in costume pieces are slight but noticeable.
