Hello,

So taking another stab at posting a build for feedback.  This time, a Rad Corruptor.  (It came down to a coin toss whether I did it as Codd vs Def.)  So far she's just up to 12, but shows promise.

As ever, I'm open to any feedback you've got.

Later on,
Generator

Kismet

    Hey there, Generator!

It's hard to give feedback on a build without know the goals and the budget. Corruptors are variable beasts, meaning that they can be fragile like a pre-Issue 24 Blaster or sturdy as a Scrapper. Some love melee and others want to be at range. I see that you have included all of the Corruptor ATOs in your build, so you are allowing for some spending of influence/merits. However, there aren't any purples or Seasonal/Special attuned enhancements (i.e. Winter, Summer, Halloween), so I don't know if those are within your reach/build scope.

Some things I would say, regardless of any specific build goals:

I prefer the T1 Blast over the T2 in almost all cases because they are usually higher DPA and work better as filler between your more substantial blasts and your excellent buffs/debuffs.So, Neutrino Bolt over X-Ray Beam (please ignore me if it's a concept thing or you're in love with the effect; I totally feel you).

The six-slotting of many sets is unfocused. The character neither hits the soft cap on any of the important defenses (S/L/E/R/M), nor does it have particularly strong resistances. Accelerate Metabolism, for example, feels terribly over-slotted. The hit points in the 2-slot position are nice, but everything else on the way to a meager 5% recharge bonus in the 6-slot position is skippable. I question what all six-slots of Scirocco's dervish is giving you, as well. A mere 2 slots in Obliteration will give you 2.25% S/L Resistance and a second damage proc.

I'd also consider splitting up the Superior Scourging Blasts into 2 sets of 3. The endurance and the +10% recharge are the prizes (and should remove the appeal of spending 6 slots on Efficacy Adaptor in Accelerate Metabolism for 5% recharge). The ATOs can go into any of your attacks, so you can drop in three and then fill in with partials from other sets (like Obliteration) or just more procs.

I'm dubious of Fallout due to the triple requirement of a teammate being dead, enemies clustered around the corpse, and the character with Fallout being on-hand to throw the power before the dead person rezzes. In any case, I'd not spend nearly so many slots on it, regardless of what my build goals were. Also, Vengeance is far easier to get take advantage of, as well as being a wonderful Luck of the Gambler +7.5% global mule. You're already two powers into Leadership, it would be a straight swap from Fallout to Vengeance. Once again, if you're love with the power or it's a concept thing, please ignore me and get down with your bad self! :)

One final thing that I'd suggest is that the 6-slots of Lockdown in EMP isn't doing much for you, and the power has such a LONG timer for something that doesn't do damage to most opponents. I'd not recommend skipping it (it's way too good), but like with the 4-minute recharge Controller AoE Holds, it gets used infrequently enough that maybe just the Lockdown proc (for making sure you get bosses and/or set-up EBs) is enough.

Thanks for sharing your build, and if you'd like more feedback, I can make suggestions based off your build budget, playstyle, and goals.

    Happy New Year!

Kismet, a ton of food for thought, thanks.  I'll respond in more depth later, but one point I wanted to address.  T1 vs T2 blast, I don't see any real difference in their DPA.  I mean, I look at them in Mids' comparison tool and it's Neutrino Bolt ahead, but by a measly 0.07 (33.37 vs 33.3).  So I went with X-Ray just so I wouldn't get carpal tunnel syndrome firing off Neutrino Bolt all the time.  :)

More on some of the rest later.

Donkyhotay

I personally prefer skipping the T1 power on most ranged builds to limit clicking, however neutrino bolt is one of the few exceptions I have to that rule. It's so fast you it very easily fits anywhere within any downtime in your rotation. And while it does pretty minimal damage throwing it out once in a blue moon while your other powers are on CD, I like slotting it for -def and using it as basically a slight boost for my next (harder hitting) power. Not certain if that's the most practical use for it, but that's what I do with it.

In regard to the T1 vs T2 blast, I do agree that the DPA is minimally different. The primary difference is spending only 1 second not doing a lot of damage, versus 1.67 seconds doing not much more. With so many other choices available to a character (In this example, you've got two toggle debuffs, a heal, AM, LR, Cosmic Burst, Irradiate, Proton Volley, Atomic Blast, and eventually a Destiny power), I'd find my time better spent doing any of those than waiting for a filler attack to finish animating. I don't mind slapping the T1 again (or setting it on auto) if simply attacking again is the most expedient thing to do. The incredibly short recharge means that Neutrino Bolt can be its own attack chain. Carpel tunnel is its own over-riding issue, of course, and you have my sympathy.

Of course, if you're talking about an AV at less than 30% health, then mashing attacks might be all that matters.

It's all a matter context (what are your build goals and what content do you find yourself playing?. I find Corruptor blasts (at least until you're dealing with enemies at low health) to be underwhelming, which is perfectly fine with me because the secondaries are packed with awesome buffs/debuffs/controls for setting them up :)
