Backstory: Raised in a planet called Nishihara, Russell Gold was a boy whose been the cursed member of his family every few generations that carried the essence of the entity of rage. Spending the years in a dangerous world that he was born and raised in, he learned to survive and eventually moved to the colonized moon of Scylla known as Atros and met the woman of his life named Miranda. For four years, they kept Atros safe, fighting evil side by side as partners. When Miranda had passed away after she and Russell were ambushed by a group of anti-superpower luddites known as The Trinity, the essence inside of him would fully manifest, changing Russell's life entirely...
Shortly after Miranda's death, Russell had become lost to the hatred and vengeance that overwhelmed him and hunted down the cult's base of operations. Every man, woman, and child was brutally murdered by his hand. Children had cried out in pain. Blood and viscera stained the ground. Screams of terror was heard from miles. Russell had given in to Nyarlathotep's influences and avenged Miranda's death without mercy and at the cost of his humanity. The base of operations was soon infamous for a landmark known as "The Butcher's Playground."
Russell's superability allows him to convert his rage or hate into energy that he can use to eradicate enemies and even make energy constructs and spew superheated plasma from his mouth. If his anger is too much for him however, he'll become bloodthirsty and will start attacking friend and foe alike indiscriminately, and his blood would slowly posion him to the point where he perishes from his own rage. There is one theory that has been confirmed only once that someone who is under Nyarlathotep's influence could be cured by the essence of the entity of compassion given to a being known as Proselyte.
As a Galaxy Spartan member, he is a hunter who tracks down and murders criminals and villains that are hiding in the Andromeda Galaxy. Since his arrival in Paragon City, he's been looking to bring more souls and blood for Nyarlathotep to satisfy his bloodlust.
