This is an emergency funding drive, outside of our normal six-month timeline.Our current hosts have decided to shutter their datacenter business in part.
However, thanks in part to our long-standing business with them for the past few years (funded by our community players), they are opting to give us the option to buy the current dedicated server boxes while maintaining colocation hosting for the other services. (These are the boxes that house Live and Beta, plus they wish to give us access to the VPS systems that house the forums, Discord Bot, etc.)
Going forward, this will cause the bills to be reduced to as low as $996.00, as we no longer have to pay the rental fee on all of the VPS and dedicated boxes, plus additional surcharges.
This total of $1162 covers the full purchase of the two boxes (valued at $300 each) plus the new colocation costs, but minus any of the remaining fees from the original service contract.
How to Donate:Currently, PayPal is being used to collect donations via "PayPal Pools". Additionally, a few people have reached out to donate via Wise (f/k/a TransferWise), and while that is possible, it will need to be handled privately. If you are an international player and wish to donate in Euro or GBP, you can reach out to me (retched) via Discord, and I'll provide details on how you can donate should you choose not to use PayPal. Same goes with other funding sources (PayPal direct, CashApp, etc.) Additionally, a new PayPal account has been made to hold the funds as well. (@retchedcoh)
