A build to softcap def on Elec/StoneMelee Tanker

While playing today, our team began discussing Brute and Tanker armor sets, and I offered to post the build I’m using for my Elec/StoneMelee Tanker. This was the exact build I had on live, with all of the IOs listed. Especially after the Invul post above, I’m gonna brag a bit: even while leveling, well before +Def IOs hit, I could laugh at Malta and Carnies. On live, I had no trouble soloing Incarnate content (could do it up to +2/x4 with the softcap Def).

The secret? Multiple layers of mitigation. From Elec: resists out the wazoo; a heal; a damage/end aura, and a End sap/buff - even now my opponents are usually left gasping for air while I slowly arrest them all. From Stone Melee, loads of KB, plus the beauty of Fault (slot for Stun while leveling!), and the Boss-holding keystone of Seismic Smash. That mitigation means softcap Def isn’t needed in normal content, and so having it becomes just one more tool among many.

Since our conversation was really whether Brutes could do this, I’m going to make a similar post in the Brute forum, however with another build.

I should have added a few things: the build has 47.1% S/L Def, along with 41.8% Melee Def. Resists (including Incarnate Alpha) are 86.9% S/L; WAY beyond 90% Energy. The recharge is pretty dang nice too. This build pretty much keeps teams safe.
